关键的转 toward 点出现在9月17日至18日期间. 当Center到达lat 20°以N, lng 140°以W海域时, Typhoon 受W风带槽前气流影响, Moving路径发生显著转折, 由NW toward 转为NE toward 加速Moving. 此后, 系统迅速远离低纬度暖水区, toward 高纬度Japan以E海域逼近, 最终 at 9月20日在N海道以E海域减弱并结束观测. 整个生命周期内, 该Typhoon 未Landfall任何land, 始终在洋面上活动.
Intensity evolution and historical comparison
“Choi_wan” underwent an extremely rapid enhancement process, a typical Severe Typhoon case in 2009. Starting from the September 13th Tropical Storm (18m/s, 1000hPa), it developed into a Super Typhoon in only about 48h. Especially in the 24h of September 15th 02h to 16th 02h, Pressure dropped from 940hPa to 910hPa, max wind jumped from 50m/s to 65m/s, showing extremely strong explosive power.
