Typhoon CHAMPI Remains a Super Typhoon; Sustained Strong Winds Observed Along Fujian’s Coast
Typhoon CHAMPI has recently maintained super typhoon intensity over the northwestern Pacific Ocean, with peak intensity reaching Category 17 or above. Owing to the combined effects of its outer circulation and cold air, sustained winds of Force 9–11, with gusts of Force 12–13, have occurred along the central and northern coasts of Fujian since October 21. According to Polaris Power Network, wind turbines in the affected sea areas have been put through a severe test.
