2026 4th Typhoon “Sinlaku” at the early morning of April 10 in the Northwest Pacific low-latitude waters formed, initial Position at 8.4°N, 150.4°E. Early in life history, the system showed a slow W trend, from 150.4°E to 151.4°E, from April 12 toward NW. As the latitude gradually increased, the typhoon trackined a stable NW route between April 13 and 14, the center coordinates rapidly increased from 11.6°N to 14.6°N, the length continued to W.
At reaching 18.3°N, near 144.7°E, the Moving direction shifted from NW to NE, then accelerated toward High latitude water spread.Thro its lifecycle, the Typhoon center crossed about 19.5 latitudes, and eventually at the evening of April 19 at 27.9°N, 152.1°E weakened into Tropical Storm and ended observations.
Starting from the Tropical Storm (18m/s) on April 10, it intensified into Super Typhoon in only about 42h. On the morning of April 13, the system peaked at 11.6°N, the center lowest air pressure dropped to 900hPa, max wind reached 70m/s. After that, the intensityined about 24h began to slowly weaken, declined to Severe Typhoon on April 15, and further weakened into Severe Tropical Storm on April 18.
Its peak air pressure (900hPa) is much lower at 2008 (935hPa) and 2002 (933hPa) Super Typhoon level, and is significantly better at 2020 (992hPa, Tropical Storm) and 2014 (980hPa, Severe Tropical Storm) weak system performance.
