Observed from the coordinate sequence, August 18th, 11th to 19th, 07th, the Typhoon center latitude from 20.5°N rapidly increased to 22.1°N, the length from 116.4°EW to 113.2°E, showing a clear NW toward Moving scale. Finally, the system at August 19th, 06th at the Guangdong Zhuhai City Gold Bay Area coastal Landfall, then continued toward NW direction deeper inland, until August 19, 20th in the territory of Guangxi weakened into Tropical Depression and ended code.
Intensity evolution and historical comparison
Higos’ Intensity evolution has a marked characteristic of “pre-stagnation, later eruption.” After the Tropical Depression phase lasting about 40 hours, the system at August 18 at 11 am increased to Tropical Storm, and rapidly increased within 12 hours.
