Intensity Evolution Analysis
The intensity of Kajiki changed relatively gently, never exceeding tropical storm level. From the early to mid period (from August 31 to 14:00 on September 2), the central pressure remained between 1002 hPa and 995 hPa, with maximum sustained winds steady at 15 m/s, showing typical characteristics of a tropical depression. Starting from 08:00 on September 2, the pressure began to drop slowly, reaching its lowest value of 995 hPa by 14:00 on September 2, and maintaining this pressure for about 24 hours. By 02:00 on September 3, the maximum sustained winds increased to 18 m/s, officially upgrading the system to a tropical storm, which was also its peak intensity. However, this high-intensity state lasted less than a day. After 20:00 on September 3, as the pressure rose back to 998 hPa and wind speeds dropped to 15 m/s, the system was downgraded back to a tropical depression and rapidly weakened.
