Typhoon Meranti (201614)'s life history began at 10 September 2016 at 14 a.m. of the Northwest Pacific ocean surface, the initial Position was 14.9°N, 139.1°E. In formed early to mid-development, the system overall presented a stable NW toward MovingTrend. From coordinate sequence analysis, its length moved from 139.1°E rapidly to 124.2°E, latitude increased from 14.9°NN to 20.1°N, showing a strong W line fragment. During the approach to Taiwan Strait and Fujiancoastal, the path was slightly toward N deviated, and finally at 15 September 2016 at 03:05 at FujianXiamen airport landfall.
