Intensity evolution and historical comparison
The intensity evolution of “Noguri” has experienced rapid enhancement, peak maintenance and rapid weakening in three stages. Starting from the Tropical Storm (18m/s, 998hPa) on July 4, it has been rapidly strengthened in about 3 days, to reach its peak on July 7, 17, the center lowest air pressure dropped to 930hPa, max wind to 55m/s, qualified as Super Typhoon. It is worth noting that the peak intensityined at least 6h (up to July 7, 23, data is still 55m/s/930hPa) . Starting on July 8, with the latitude rise and possible vertical wind interruption effects, the intensity slowly decreased, but stillined the Super Typhoon level until July 8,17.
Its peak lowest air pressure (930hPa) was far lower at 2019 Noguri (965hPa), 2008 Noguri (965hPa) and 2002 Noguri (958hPa) . The 2014 edition was the only one to reach the 'Super Typhoon' grade of the same name, with the rest of the year highest at the 'Severe Typhoon' or 'Typhoon' level, indicating that 2014 Noguri has a historic rarity in energy accumulation and structural integrity.
