The key turning phase occurred around August 28. At 02:00 on August 28, Typhoon Amber was located at 20.3°N, 124.3°E. By 20:00 that day, it had moved to 22.2°N, 122.4°E, with a marked increase in its northward component. After August 29, the track clearly turned northeast, with longitude rapidly retreating eastward to 120°E and beyond, while latitude increased quickly to 25.1°N. It ultimately weakened into a tropical depression on August 30 and moved out of the main monitoring area. Throughout its entire lifecycle, the typhoon made no landfall and remained at sea.
