That year, your Haikou, one of the 23 typhoons of the 2014 Northwest Pacific year-round code, did not celebrate a sluggish year, but experienced two heartfelt storm baptisms.
As a rare Super Typhoon, it has a low air pressure of 910hPa°E, max wind of up to 60m/s. In mid-July, it passed about 38km from Haikou.You may still remember that boring low air pressure, the wind like a monster tears the coconut trees around the street, Rainstorm like a knock on the window, and the whole city holds its breath in shock and awe.
By mid-September, “Kalmaegi (201415)” followed. it is typhoon level, minimum pressure 960hPa°E, max wind 40m/s, but the path is closer. it is only about 29km away from Haikou. the closer distance brings thin and violent winds, sea winds wrapped with water vapour swallowing through the streets, water accumulates quickly on the streets, you feel the most direct baptism of nature in the storm.
Haikou in 2014, although twice experienced wind and rain, but after every wind and rain, Coconut City can always quickly blow away the dust, restore the past fireworks and vitality, show a tough bottom.
